THE LIGHTHOUSE: This lighthouse was manufactured in 1885. The altitude of his stone tower is 8 metres and the height of focal plane is 110 metres. The lighthouse located in Isle of Sapientza a part of group island called as Inuses. The light is accessible by private boat only from Methoni. The Oinousses Lighthouse stands out imposingly on the NE tip of Sapienza. It is a real architectural monument which has remained for centuries a sleepless guard and hope of seamen by awakening legends and stories. It was lit for the first time on 1^st September 1885.

SAPIENZA: Sapienza is an island south of Methoni which captures the visitors interest because of its natural beauties which vary from rocky terrains to woods and gorges full of arbutus bushes. History and legend touch the visitor´s imagination challenging him to look for the lost monastery or to recall sounds while looking for Manetta´s cave. The island mystery becomes more intense because its real historical route is totally unknown, therefore every visitor can be an aspiring explorer.

SAPIENZA FLORA AND FAUNA: On Sapienza there is lush Mediterranean vegetation consisting of a type of mastic tree, holly, arbutus bush, wild olive tree, myrtle, prickly broom, thyme, creeping plants, wild herbs and weeds. We can also find tall trees and wild olive trees even of 10 meters in height. A surface of 240.000 m2 was characterized by the Greek Government as �Presevable Wild life Monument�.

In 1982 1100 pleasants were set free while 20 chamois and 26 goats and sheep were imported which nowadays are estimated to amount to 300 chamois and 400 goats and sheep.
