LIGHTHOUSE KITRIES

This lighthouse was manufactured in 1892. The altitude of tower is 11 metres and the height of focal plane is 31 metres. This lighthouse located in cape Kitries of Messiniakos Gulf.The light first worked on with petroleum. The luminosity was 10 n. m. During the 2nd W.W. the light stayed dead until 1945 when Hellenic Navy decided to reconstruct the lighthouse network. On 1953 the Light supplied with electric power and operated as warded until 1999 when it completely automated (solar power). Now it shines a white light with two flash every 12" and luminosity 7 n.m.
